Washing Machine Not Spinning? Here Is What You Should Check
Troubleshooting guide for front load and top load washing machine spinning and drainage issues before calling a technician.
A washing machine that refuses to spin can leave your clothes dripping wet. Here are key checkpoints to identify the root cause.
1. Uneven Load Distribution
Modern washing machines have sensors that halt high-speed spinning if clothes clump on one side. Redistribute heavy towels or blankets evenly.
2. Blocked Drain Filter
If the machine cannot pump out dirty water completely, the safety switch prevents spin mode. Clean the lint/coin trap located at the bottom front.
3. Drive Belt or Motor Coupling
If the motor runs but the drum does not rotate, the drive belt may have slipped off or snapped, requiring a technician to replace it.
